Pink Brushes Continued!!

Today's post is a continuation of my review on Sedona Lace's 12 piece professional brush set in pink! Click here to read about the face brushes if you havent already! :D I will be going through the rest of the brushes (all the eye brushes) in this post today :) enjoy!

Large Shader Brush 941

This flat shaped brush is ideal for applying eye shadow primer and creme formulas. Could also be used for concealers in precise areas. Natural bristles.

This is one of my absolute favourites from this brush set! it is much larger than a normal eyeshadow brush (comparison below) and is perfect for applying an all over lid color. i use this daily to pat on a neutral shade all over my lids and then use the side of the brush to blend out. love it!!

Eye Shading Brush 305

This brush has a rounded and tapered top and a perfect size for applying and blending an all over shadow. Packs color into the lip and also blends for a soft result.

This brush is also very good for patting on colors as it picks up eyeshadow well and deposits them with little fall out. i like to use this to apply outer corner shades, add a pop of color in the middle of my lids, as well as to blend out the colors.

Medium Angled Shading Brush 407

This angled shape, yet flat with natural bristles brush, is best used underneath the eyebrow and inner corners of the eyes. Also great use for blending shadows outwards.

This brush is similar to the eye shading brush, but its angled shape allows for easier blending. I like using this to apply my inner corner highlight shades because the shape and size of the brush is perfect to work around the tear duct. This is also a great brush for contouring the nose!!

Tapered Blending Brush 863
 This brush has a rounded and tapered top and a perfect size for applying and blending an all over shadow. Packs color into the lip and also blends for a soft result.

This fluffy blending brush allows you to blend colors so that they fade into one another. The brush head is slightly bigger than i would like (since i have a small eyelid area) but would be great for those who have bigger eyelids than me (most of you lol). This brush can also be used to blend in concealer although i prefer using my fingers to pat it in. I had slight shedding issues with this during the first wash, but it seems to be much better now :)

Pencil Brush 904

This brush is name of natural bristles and is perfect for smudging out eye liner. Great for applying color in the crease and outer corner of the eye.This brush can easily create a gorgeous 'smokey eye' look.

I love this brush! it is great for applying colors into the crease area very precisely and is small enough for me to use even with my small eyelid area! :D plus, i also love using this to apply shadow to my lower lashline because it gives a nice soft smoky effect. The only downside to this brush is that, like the large angled contour brush (with white bristles), it has a smell when it is wet. I have been notified by SedonaLace that this is due to the fact that these two brushes are made from high quality goat hair. So now we know :)

Small Angled Brush 561

This stiff natural bristled brush is angled to help create the perfect eye brow when filling in. This is an essential brush when applying gel or creme eyeliner.

Since this brush is slightly larger than my other angled liner brushes, I like using this brush to fill my eyebrows in (with a brow powder/eyeshadow) and it does a very good job! You could also use this to line your eyes with a gel liner but i prefer the eyeliner brush for that.

Eyeliner Brush 772

This extra fine brush with natural bristles helps give a precise line when applying liner.

This brush is my go-to brush for appying gel liners! It allows for an easy and smooth application and is great for winging out your liners! However, if you are going for a super thin liner, this brush might be slightly too big to give you the definition you want. Rather, i believe this brush is better suited for normal to thicker applications of liner. You could also use this brush for coloring in your lips :)

As you can tell, the sedona lace brush is larger in width and slightly taller in height in comparison to ELF's angled brush. because of this, i like to use my sedona lace brush to fill in my brows and the ELF brush for gel liners.

As you can see, the ecotools brush is definitely alot more fluffy and thicker therefore making it more suitable as a blending brush to blend out harsh edges. Sedona Lace's brush is more slim and angled making it more suitable to reach into the inner corners of your eyes.

The rest of the brushes are quite similar to my other brushes from other brands so i will not be posting a comparison.

Overall thoughts on face brushes - 4/5

From the brushes i reviewed today, my favourites are ... all of them! if i am applying eyeshadow for a night out, a date or a special ocassion, i will use all these brushes to create my look. 

for my everyday makeup, i mainly use the large shader brush to apply an all over shadow, the pencil brush to apply a crease color, the tapered blending brush to blend and the eyeliner brush to apply my gel liner. Overall, definitely love all of these brushes and would recommend them all :)

The only point i took off here was due to slight shedding from the tapered blending brush & a weird smell that appears from the large angle contour brush when it is wet.. although i have been notified that this was due to the usage of high quality goat hair :)

Pros:

- very worthwhile to purchase - $50 for 12 brushes & brushroll!

- brushroll is included and is very good quality

- high quality brushes

- includes a nice variety of brushes

- brushes are not scratchy on face

Cons:

- only available online through SedonaLace's website

- slight shedding with powder brush

- weird smell when large angle contour brush is wet

Overall thoughts on brush set - 4.5/5

This brush set is really worth your money as it comes with both 12 brushes and a brush roll! the brushes are definitely high quality brushes and are perfect if you are just starting your makeup collection because it comes with all the brushes you'll need to do your makeup :) overall, i love my brush set and would definitely highly recommend this. (oh, and if you dont like pink. they also have this set in black!)

Tweet Sedona Lace Pink Brush Set - Face Brushes

My dream come true, pink brushes!

Im sure you know how much i love pink... i mean, the name & theme of this blog are a pretty big hint haha but when Sedona Lace came out with their 12 piece professional brush set in PINK, i just had to buy it :) i got this around my birthday, so i have been using my brush set for around 1 month or so and am really loving it! read on for my review :)

note- because i find myself always rambling on and writing extremely long posts, i will be splitting up this review into two parts, one for face brushes and another for eyes :)

as you can see, the sedona lace has a more glossy look

brush roll - 5/5

this brush roll is very nicely made with detailed (almost leather like) patterns. the texture is soft but durable and the color is a soft lavender pink. the inside of the brush roll is a metallic soft silver shade which creates a nice contrast from the pink.

i found that the brush roll can be easily cleaned with makeup wipes and the compartments actually can hold alot more than 12 brushes. after using my brush set for around a month or so, i have slowly filled it up with some of my other favourite brushes ( ex: i like to have 2 all over eyeshadow brushes & 2 blending brushes so i can switch brushes between lighter and darker colors)

overall, very good quality brush roll and i am so glad it is INCLUDED with the brush set :)

and now, onto the face brushes!

Powder Brush  376

This sculpted brush head with natural bristles, allows for more precise placement. Great rounded top for "all over" application of loose powder.

this brush is very dense and i found it to be a very nice size for my face. it is great for applying loose powder to set foundation, but i also like to use this sometimes to apply blush to get a nice natural flush :) i found slight shedding with this brush during washes and a few during usage, nothing major though.

Duo Fibre Brush  813

This brush is known to add the finish of an "airbrush look" when using liquid foundation, not the best brush for creme foundations. The great natural bristles of this brush help with the application of blush, also used as a highlight brush.

This brush is similar to many other duo fibres in that it gives a nice airbrushed finished when used to apply foundation. i found that this brush had a stiffer consistency, but in a good way. With my ecotools & quo duo fibre brushes, i felt that they were slightly too flimsy. this brush is also good for a light application of cream blushes and highlighters :) oh, and i had no bleeding whatsoever with this *yay* although i have read some reviews that had slight bleeding.

Large Angled Contour Brush  850

This angled shaped brush works best when used for applying blushes. Used to apply cheek contour, could also be used wet as a foundation brush. These natural bristles are best when used with Sedona Lace's Contour and Blush Palette.

this brush is great for both blushes and bronzers. since i like to use my ELF powder brush as a blush brush, i keep this one designated for bronzer and contouring. because it has an angled head, it makes contouring really simple! it is also quite fluffy therefore allowing a lighter application of bronzer making it look more natural. the only downside to this brush, is that it has a weird (boardering on gross) smell when it is wet. i have no clue what it is or what causes it, but please dont smell this when its wet! when its dry though, its 100% fine :S

Foundation Brush  727

The synthetic bristles on this brush are non-absorbing to help keep your foundation on your face and not on the brush! Tapered Oval head gently helps to blend the foundation into place. Works well with any Liquid/creme products, but works best with Sedona Lace's 10 color camouflage concealer palette.

This is your standard foundation brush. i have long stopped using this type of brushes for applying liquid foundation since i like to use flat top kabukis better, however, if you prefer this type of foundation brush, it will not disappoint. the synthetic brushes mean that it will absorb less foundation and the slightly tapered edges help blend and are great for reaching into hard to get areas like around your nose and eyes.

Concealer Brush  954

This Rounded flat shaped, thin precision tip brush with synthetic bristles allows flawless application of cream or liquid concealers underneath the eye or in hard to reach areas, like the inner eye or lash-line.

This is a great concealer brush because it is very small and precise. The synthetic brushes are the same as the foundation brush and is great because it doesnt absorb too much product. i like to use this to cover any blemishes and acne scarring but find it a bit too rough for undereyes. this also makes a great brush to pat on mineral eyeshadow & pigments.

The sedona lace brush is slightly stiffer and also has a slightly tapered head which makes it easier to reach small areas. I would also say that the Sedona Lace brush absorbs alot less foundation so you definitely waste less.

The ecotools brush is slightly wider and denser than the sedona lace one. i also find that ecotools has softer bristles. overall, i like both but i would use them for different purposes - ecotools for loose powder & sedona lace for natural looking blush

the sedona lace brush is definitely firmer and not as flimsy compared to both ecotools and quo allowing for better control during foundation application. In terms of density, it is right in the middle with ecotools having the least amount of bristles and quo with the most. Overall though, i think sedona lace is best for foundation application.

Overall thoughts on face brushes - 4/5

From the five brushes i reviewed today, my favourites are the large angle contour and the concealer brushes, both of which i use daily. the other three are also very good but could be replaceable with other brushes. for example, i like to use my ELF kabuki for applying loose powder and my Sigma F80 for foundation. However, those are just my choices. If i didnt have those two brushes, i would still be happy using my sedona lace brushes as they are great quality and get the job done well.
