I'm Loving July's LuxeBox !

Another monthly box of samples!
I really enjoyed this month's luxebox! Take a look at what i got! :D

i LOVE essie polishes! Although i really did want the pink polish shown in the description above, i was pretty happy with the purple as well because my nail polish collection lacks a deep purple :)

quick swatch! this is a gorgeous deep eggplant purple :) lovely! although it does stain a bit...
next up, this hair oil treatment is my FAV from this month's luxebox! it smells heavenly and really does help my hair look a lot healthier and smoother! <3 definitely planning on purchasing a full sized bottle when im done with this! <3

sample drop of the hair oil treatment

next is a perfume sample from stella :)

super pretty :) although im happy with my current fragrance, i am actually really liking this as well! i may not be able to control myself and go out and purchase this because it smells so good!

last but not least, this lip duo pencil was very surprisingly good!

i've never tried any of trucco's products, but this makes me want to!
quick swatches.. these were very creamy and applied so easily! i love the fact that the pencil was a duo and that you get a fun bright color as well as a more natural shade :) <3

and thats it for this month's luxebox! I really enjoyed all the samples and i cant wait to get next month's box! i swear, these boxes are getting better and better each month and it just brightens my day when i receive my next luxebox in the mail :D Hope you all are having a wonderful summer! I am LOVING every moment of it :)

June LuxeBox - Laura Mercier Full Size Shadow!

What a lovely surprise!

This Last month's LuxeBox (man i'm having a hard time posting these on time! sorry!) gave me a surprise, a good one i should add! :D Not only were there the usual deluxe samples, but this time, i was "upgraded" to a full sized product! Read on to see what I got in my June LuxeBox!

all the samples plus the full sized laura mercier shadow :)

size comparison to my iphone 4

Normally, i wouldnt be overally excited to see these types of samples because i quite like my skincare routine (hey.. it works and i dont want to mess it up lol) and i dont normally use alot of hair products... BUT, this time around, im actually really liking the joico hair oil! my hairs been a tad dry lately and i've been getting alot of flyaways... so this has been wonderful :)

the foaming face wash isnt bad either! the texture is nice and smooth and actually does a pretty good job of removing all the makeup leaving my face feeling fresh :) plus, i love the little quote on the bottle: "what goes on your body, goes in your body"

ohh here comes today's main feature! a FULL SIZED laura mercier eye shadow! :D the one i received was in the shade sandstone and i absolutely love it :) its a suitable color for a large range of skintones and it is the perfect shade for me since i wear very little eyeshadow :)

sleek packaging with a mirror :)

and heres a swatch :) this is nice for a slight highlight, but i like to use it as an all over the lid shade. it really helps brighten up my eyes, something i definitely need with the amount of sleep i've been getting lately!

and last but not least, i also received two dermalogica samples, a shaving cream and a daily clean scrub. since these are targeted at our male counterparts, im planning to give them to my bf, brother or dad.. whoever wants it more hehe :)

Overall, another lovely luxebox from the lovely team at Loose Button! I am really enjoying these monthly boxes and i think its time i renew my subscription! Going to go for another 3 months (even though the price went up a tad, from $10 a month to $12) :D

have a great weekend!

Monthly Deluxe Samples? My First LuxeBox from Loose Button

Ever wanted a box of deluxe samples delivered to your door?

Well, now you can have it! (and yes canadian beauties, that means you too!) No more complaining that Birchbox doesnt shop to Canada, because Loose Button does! and at $10 a month for several deluxe samples from a range of very nice brands, i look forward to that time of the month when my LuxeBox shows up in my mailbox! Read on to find out what I got in my very first LuxeBox!

in comparison to my iphone 4 for size

the packaging is amazing!
It comes in an adorable box wrapped with a super cute bow :) and everything inside comes neatly wrapped in some tissue paper :) i am a sucker for packaging and well, props to Loose Button for making it feel like its christmas all over again! <3

and to make everything easier, Loose Button provides a nice list of descriptions of the samples you are getting, so even if you havent heard of the brand or the type of product, you can easily learn about what you are getting :)

Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara -
This was the only makeup related sample i got, but i am very happy with it! I have yet to fully test it out, (future review to come) but i am really liking the wand! It narrows down to a smaller brush at the tip so it makes it super easy to coat my lower lashes, something i have lots of trouble with considering i have almost NO bottom lashes lol

Principessa - Ultimate Softening Shampoo and Conditioner
I have yet to test any hair products from this brand although i've sampled some of their raspberry hand cream at Smashing Cosmetica and it smelled amazingly good. These come in adorable pink containers that are packed FULL of the shampoo and conditioner. I dont normally do hair products reviews, but if anyones interested, i can post a review for these :)

Elizabeth Grant - Gentle Cleanser and Body Treatment
Again, havent really tested out this brand before but thats the goodness of these LuxeBoxes! :) both of these sound very interesting in the descriptions, and i am excited to be testing these! However, since i am going to be leaving on a grad trip shortly, i dont feel brave enough to test out new products on a trip lol. I'll be testing these once i get back so if you're looking for a review, you might have to wait a bit.

oh, forgot to mention, they also included a nice little note explaining what they are etc and also, that they included a Daffodil pin this month in honor of Cancer Awareness Month and to show that a portion of the $10 has been donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. How thoughtful! I LOVE companies who pay back to society <3 makes me feel good about giving them my money lol

--------------------------------------

As with my other reviews, i'll start with the good:
For merely $10 a month (thats including shipping!), you get 3-5 deluxe samples in every box :) Although it doesnt sound like much, these samples are not just those little 0.00005 oz packages containing barely enough to use, these are deluxe sized & travel sized which gives you quite a decent amount of product to test not just once!

Also, you get a nice mix of different varieties of products including makeup, skincare and hair care etc. This mix is completely random and chosen by the team at Loose Button. Although you might not always get what you want, you'll most likely end up getting some brands you already love and some new brands to test out! I really love the idea behind this and taking a peek at the list of upcoming brands, i am SO excited for my next LuxeBox to come in! <3

and then theres the bad:
although i cant say this will go for every LuxeBox as this was just my first time, I was a tad disappointed that out of the items i received, only ONE of them was makeup related. The rest was skincare and hair products which usually i would love, but for the past while, i've been only really interested in new makeup products since i have found a steady hair & skincare routine that i'd like to stick to.

Of course, this is just my own personal opinion and im sure that the next LuxeBoxes will have more makeup samples, so overall. im still pretty happy with this service and have already signed up for another box! :)

closer up of denver, look at the pretty sparkles!

"When asked what Chicago would look like as a shadow, I was sent a bunch of pictures of gorgeous Chicago sunsets. This is a gorgeous shade of blue with a slight purple undertone. It also have some gold and silver sparkles."

"When asked what Denver would look like as a shadow, I was told a black with red, blue and purple sparkles to represent the Denver nightlife. This is a pearly black with red, blue and purple sparkles throughout."

miami, new york

"When asked what Miami would look like as a shadow, I was told red, orange or yellow but definitely bright. This is a gorgeous shade of yellow that also has red reflects in it."

"When asked what New York would look like as a shadow, they mentioned the Yankees as well as the "concrete jungle". This is a metallic white, almost silver color with blue and silver reflects throughout.."

for comparison, miami on left, jerrica on right
miami is much more vibrant where jerrica is more sheer and shimmery

close up of new york, sooo pretty!

Philadelphia, Seattle

"When asked what Philadelphia would look like as a shadow, I was told red because of Love Park and gold because of the Liberty Bell. This is a gorgeous brick-ish type red with TONS of gold reflecks."

"When asked what Seattle would look like as a shadow, they said a grayish blue color because of the rain. This is a light gray with an blue tint as well as purple, blue and green sparkles."

Overall Review
These eyeshadows are gorgeous and so pigmented! Although i only got a small sample of each, i think they will last me awhile since 1. i dont use eyeshadow on a daily basis and 2. you only need a little bit to get a whole lot of color! I have yet to try a full sized eyeshadow from GDE, but i would expect that they would last forever!!!

The eyeshadows are very high quality, finely milled, and come in a wide variety of shades and textures. i really really love their shimmery shadows because they give off the most gorgeous sheen. As well, all of their shadows seem to be very unique as they have various different sparkle colors. I dont think you can find an exact dupe for any of their shades!

Overall, although i usually stick to neutrals, i am really loving the wide range of colors and shades. i was really impresed with the amount of pigmentation i got, even from just a teeny tiny amount. The shadows blended very nicely, although i'd advise you to be careful not to over-blend as the shadows do blend almost TOO easily.

Pros:
- wide range of colors and textures
- finely milled & high quality
- very pigmented
- very unique shades
- shadows blend very well
- relatively inexpensive, starting at $1.25 for samples & $6 for full sized

Cons:
- only available online at glamourdolleyes.com
- slight glitter fallout

Would i recommend?
Yes! There are a wide variety of shades so you're bound to find one (or lots) that you love. The shades are all very unique and are very pigmented, especially when applied over a primer or applied wet. If you love loose eyeshadows, you really have to check these out!

If you plan on purchasing, dont forget!
