Hope your day is going well so far! I've been testing out ELF's eyeliner and shadow sticks. Here's some pictures and swatches:

What they say:
Achieve color intensity for your eyes with twist-up ease (no sharpening required)! Glide on the dark soft gel “liner” to create dramatic definition to the eyes. The light-reflecting pigments help line the eye subtly but intensely for a fuller more enhanced effect. Use the smooth glide “shadow” stick for soft highlighting color on the eyes to complement the liner for a polished and finished look.

Pros:
  • Very travel friendly, you get both a shadow and a liner!
  • The colours are great and very versatile!
  • Product was easy to blend
  • No sharpening needed, twistable! :)
Cons:
  • For some reason, my shadow in "basic" was very hard to apply and i had to push fairly hard before any would show up on my eyelids. This was rough and i wish it applied as nicely as smoke cause it was such a pretty colour!
  • lasting power of eyeliner was not very good.. runs and smudges easily :(
Overall: B-
I'd say this product is pretty good as you get two products for the price of one! It is great for travelling or keeping in your purse for touchups since it takes up less room and the colours are gorgeous and can create smoky or basic looks. I just wished the eyeliner was of better quality and lasted longer. Still.. the shadow stick was a lot better than i expected (although it can be a bit hard to apply if not warmed up) and i did love the colours :) For more information, visit ELF's website.

  1. OH yes...I kinda expect the quality about this one. Elf is not that great for staying power and not smudges. I never tried this one before, but I want to...Now thanks for doing the review on this. It is kinda sad to hear about the Basic stick, it is definitely pretty. I have the same problem with Covergirl eyeslick. It is kinda like this product, and it does not go on smoothly and u kinda have to rub a bit hard to get its color, which is suck, and I cannot even sharpen the pencil b/c it is too big. The only thing that I can say about this Elf liner and shadow stick is using it as a creamy base before putting on E/S. You can use the liner, but may be dab on black and brown E/S to set it. Plus, like ppl say "That is what u get for a cheap product", but do not get me wrong...I love ELF and many of their products are excellent.

  2. Aww, it sucks when these things happen. Have you tried the sharpeners that come with two sizes? I know I had a similar problem back then, and finally picked up one of those sharpeners :) and I definately agree with you.. I guess its expected when you buy ELF products that they are not always going to be of top quality consdering the price paid. But its definately nice to find the ones that are amazing! (like their studio brushes ♥) But thank you for your suggestion, I will definately try that as I would hate to have to waste the product :( Thanks for stopping by!
