Face of the day - FOTD

So.. this is a basic neutral look. I was heading for lunch with my boyfriend and some friends, and didnt want something too heavy. I focused more on creating a "flawless" face (or at least i tried :P) and therefore, applied very little eyeshadow. The products I used to create this look were:

Face:

  • Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Powder Gel
  • Misha's Perfect Cover BB Cream in #23 ♥
    • (Love this stuff, will review later!)
  • Time Balm Concealer in light/medium
    • (Will also review this sometime later, its amazing and doesnt crease!)
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent
  • ELF Warm Bronzer
  • NARS Blush in Orgasm
  • The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes - to highlight

Eyes:

  • Used 2 of the mauvey, greyish purple colours from my Artistik Cosmetics 28 Colours palette for light wash over eyelids and outer corners
    • (Almost identical to Coastal scents' 28 neutral palette, will post a review with swatches on this very soon!)
  • Also used a matte brown eyeshadow to fill in my brows
    • (any colour that matches your eyebrows would work - usually a shade lighter than hair colour)
  • Used the lighter side of Too Faced Eyeshadow Duo in Totally Toasted to highlight inner corners
  • Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Blackest Black
  • Covergirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara

Lips:
  • Rimmel Airy Fairy
  • Stila Silk Shimmer Gloss
And thats it! I know its not crazy or dramatic.. but this is simple and probably takes me around 15 - 20 minutes depending on if i'm in a hurry or not. My everyday makeup is somewhat similar to this, except I usually use neutral browns for eyeshadow rather than a grey mauvey colour.

I ordered 2 more palettes from Coastal Scents during their sale and definately cant wait till they come in! When they do, I will be playing around more with eyeshadows and hopefully get some better FOTD featuring more dramatic looks up. :) If there is anything from the lists above that you would like me to review, please feel free to leave a comment or email me and let me know! I will be more than happy to do so and post up swatches etc :) Thanks for stopping by and i hope your day went well!

  2. Aw thanks :) The camera i'm using is Sony's cyber-shot DSC-T70. My boyfriend got it for me one christmas and it does a pretty good job. I think the main thing is to get good lighting.. usually during the daytime when the sun shines through my room is when it takes the best pictures :) I have monolids so its also kind of hard to do makeup. but dont worry, with more practice and experimenting, i think we can both achieve beautiful looks! Thanks for posting :)
