Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipcolour Review

Im not sure if you have tried out maybelline's moisture extreme lipsticks but if you havent, you definately should! I previously bought one in Nude blush and i loved it. This time, i purchased Peach colada because i wanted to try out a coral shade and didnt want to spend too much money on one just incase coral didnt work out for me. Plus, i had a great experience with my other maybelline lipstick :) here's what it looks like.

And some swatches..  compared to the nude blush :)
(Unfortunately, the camera doesnt do a very good job of capturing the beautiful shimmery colour. On my hand, it looks more like the swatch with no flash, a beautiful light pinkish colour with orange tones. However, on my lips, it looks more like a bright pinkish coral colour, more like the picture with the flash)

Apply your lipstick by starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Repeat the technique on your lower lip.

My Take:
I love how this line of lipsticks dont have that lipsticky smell or taste! I previously had this in nude blush and thought that it was the only one that smelled like a watermelon but nope! they all smell like watermelons! :D and the texture is very smooth and moisturizing.. which is a big plus for me because i have dry lips :(. You can even almost skip putting on lip balm prior to lipstick because its THAT moisturizing. The colour is very pretty, if you look closely, there are little gold flecks! but i do have to say, it looks different when swatched on my hand then on my lips. I expected it to be a lighter colour. But overall, this is a very nice coral and i can definately see myself wear this now that summer is finally coming! :)

Pros:
  • Smells like watermelons!
  • Very moisturizing
  • Smooth application
  • Shimmery little gold flecks
Cons:
  • lasting power could be longer
  • colour applied is slightly different from what you see
Overall: A
Smooth, Moisturizing, Gorgeous colour.. what more do i need? I'd definately recommend this for summer! If its your first time trying out this line, i'd recommend you try out nude blush first because it is more of a natural colour that is very wearable. But for those who want to try out a coraly colour.. then maybe try this one. Its not too bright and vibrant, but it'll satisfy your crave (or at least mine). Only thing is, you might need to reapply during the day, but im fine with it! Especially because this almost feels like applying a lip balm.. that is watermelon scented! :D
