Physicians Formula Eye Booster - I want long lashes!

My lashes need a miracle!

Being asian, i have straight, short, thin lashes :( ... so im always interested in serums that boasts they can make my lashes longer and thicker! I've tested out the L'oreal lash serum in the past, and while i did love it because it made my lashes healthier and stronger, i have to admit i got lazy and forgot to apply it once in a while more often then i'd like.

So when i came across this physicians formula eye booster, i was super happy :D This is a 2 in 1 product in that it is both an eyeliner and a eye serum! Score! Now i dont have to worry about forgetting to apply my serum because well, i apply eyeliner on a daily basis! :D

note: if you'd like, they also have this product in a clear shade.. meaning just the serum

Some Product Pictures:

lets hope these results are achievable!

100% ! now THAT is persuasive lol

nice sleek packaging :)

fine pointed tip :) (NOT the flimsy ones!)

swatches showing different lines that can be created

First Impression:
Im really liking it so far! Of course, after using it only once or twice, i have yet to see any difference with my lashes lol BUT, the liner itself is very easy to use! and that is saying something considering liquid liners are not something i use often lol. It applies smoothly, the tip is fine pointed and the shade i got "ultra black", is definitely quite black :)

Even though i found that it had a good wear time (meaning it was still there when i got home at night PLUS there was very little, if any at all, smudging), this takes a bit of time to dry once you first apply it. That might be a given for some, but for others who are in a rush in the mornings, you'll have to be a bit more careful! But overall, that wait time is definitely worth it! because once its dried, it definitely stays on! :D

here are some eye swatches :)
before mascara

after a light coat of mascara lol
what did i tell you, i have crappy asian lashes :( lol so lets hope this product really works and helps them grow! *fingers crossed* haha anyways, i'll keep you guys updated! until next post, i hope you all have a wonderful week!

--------------------------------

now... lets take a look inside the packaging!

oh.. quick note here, im not sure if i just got a bad product or not, but when i took my blush out of the box, the bottom part of the plastic packaging had a hole in the middle :S at first i thought it was just because it was stuck too tightly to the box so part of it had pulled off.. but i couldnt find the broken pieces anywhere! so.. it just disappeared? :( not sure :(

however, looking up other people's reviews, i dont think this happens often so i probably just had bad luck :( boo.. oh well, doesnt stop me liking the product inside though!!

i really like this design! there is a little button on the side, so rather than having to pry open the top with your nails.. when you push the button, the top pops open slightly so you just lift the lid.. i hope im making sense here! haha basically, all you have to know is that this product is made for us lazy people :) another small step to make you happy in the morning!

underneath the blush, there is a separate compartment for a mirror and a brush.

close up of the brush

it is cute and i would say its better than most brushes that come with drugstore products, but generally.. i wouldnt be using this to put on my blush everyday. However, for emergency cases when touchups are needed, this can get the job done without being overly scratchy :)

and the brush fits quite nicely in the compartment without touching the mirror or anything :)

and just a size comparison....

the packaging is slightly taller in height compared to MAC blushes (MSF on left, blush on right)

width and circumference wise, its right in the middle :)

packaging overview - 4.5/5
although the packaging may seem bulky, its actually not that bad! fits into my hand quite nicely :) the overall product is very appealing with its hot pink metallic case. the plastic is very sturdy making it great to have in your travel makeup bag. the included mirror and brush are also very handy and make great accessories for travelling. plus, the little push-up button makes life much easier ^^

overall,  forgetting about the minor flaw (which should be only limited to my specific product), i love the whole design and packaging of this product :)

---------------------------------------

time for swatches!

all colours mixed

colors separated
lightest peachy pink (background), baby pink (large pink heart on bottom), corally shade (smaller hearts)

colors separated
shimmery bronzey beige (large brown heart), pinky red (small red heart), all colors blended

all colors separated with flash
last shade on right is all colors blended

all colors separated without flash

all colors blended - finger swatch

finally, some face swatches :) this blush was all i applied on the cheeks, no other product other than foundation was used prior.

Product Overview - 5/5
The color is gorgeous! i'd say its a pretty corally pink with tiny shimmers which give off a very pretty glow :) the product itself includes a variety of shades but i like to use it best when they are all swirled together :)

i love looking at all the hearts and just that itself makes me happy :) what i also like is the fact that there is a slight floral-y scent to the product. although i know not everyone likes their makeup to be scented, i quite like this one because it is very light and actually does make me smile when i put this blush on :)

Pros:
- cute hearts design
- very flattering shade (would be good for most skintones)
- gives you a nice healthy glow
- is very pigmented and buidable
- light floral scent (supposed to be violet according to packaging)
- good packaging, very sturdy & not too bulky
- mirror and brush included
- great for travel

Cons:
- a tad pricey for drugstore brand ($16 for 0.24 oz)
- some people may not like the floral scent

So i guess the final question is...
does this blush make me happy?

my answer? i have to say YES! i mean, just looking at the blush makes me smile :) the cute hearts, the pretty colors, the hot metallic pink packaging!! what more do i have to say?? ;) haha but actually, the product itself makes me happy as well. the color is gorgeous, easily blendable and very flattering. the scent (for me atleast) is quite nice and adds a nice touch when applying the blush.

overall, i am really loving this blush and i think physicians formula did an amazing job creating it! we all need some more smiles in our life and makeup application should never be without smiles :) plus, smiles are 100% free and definitely contagious, so go on.. spread the smile! :D

Physicians Formula Eye Makeup Remover Pads - An Organic Way to Take Off Makeup!

Are you always on the search for natural organic products? Do you love the heavenly scent of lavender? I think its time you tried Physicans Fomula Eye Makeup Remover Pads!

I bought this 3-pack recently at Costco for around $18 (I lost the receipt but its close to that price!).. which is pretty good considering they usually retail for $7 each :)

[btw.. I love how Costco always sells stuff for cheaper.. except you have to tradeoff with the fact that its always in bulk! >=( ]

anyways, some information on the product itself :)

From their website:
"Hypoallergenic. 100% Free of Harsh Chemicals. 100% Free of Synthetic Preservatives. 100% Free of Parabens. 100% Free of GMO's. 100% Free of Synthetic Colors. 100% Free of Synthetic Fragrances. 100% Cruelty Free. "

INGREDIENTS: WATER, CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) FRUIT WATER *, GLYCERIN, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, CUCUMIS SATIVUS (CUCUMBER) FRUIT EXTRACT *, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) SEED EXTRACT, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) LEAF EXTRACT *, CITRUS MEDICA LIMONUM (LEMON) PEEL OIL, LEUCONOSTOC/RADISH ROOT FERMENT FILTRATE, LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER ) OIL *. * PRODUCED FROM ORGANIC FARMING

These come packaged in a little plastic holder... which i then decided to also be 'environmentally friendly' and make use of it as a jewlery holder! i love finding different uses for stuff i dont need hehe :D you should always try to make use of what you have already! helps save some more money... to buy more makeup HAHA

tada! these are a great fit for my bracelets :) and the little dent from the packaging allows for them to stay in their spots! yay!

theres also a flap so you can close it up (although no clasp to hold it down), but it'll be nice to keep out dust. Or if you have extra room and lots of braclets, you could cut the top off and use it as another holder :)

their new home :) yay!

anyways.. back to the review! :p

each of these jars contain 60 pads pre-soaked with makeup remover. if you normally dont wear too much makeup, one pad will do, meaning this could last you for 2 months! If you need to use 2 a day, then it'll last one month. Still not too shabby considering the price!

opening it up.... theres a little cardboard-ish flap that sits between the lid and the pads. im guessing this is to help keep the pads moistened and prevent them from drying out as fast :)

Heres the inside!

and just another picture to show you the thickness of the pads. they were thinner than i expected! but surprisingly enough, very very strong!

Packaging Overview - 3/5
I love the look of this little jar :) Its super cute and definitely very sturdy. The cap twirls shut pretty tightly so theres little chance the pads will dry out. The downside to this though, is that when you're about halfway down the jar, i can imagine that it'll get pretty hard to stick your fingers in and pull out the pads... just a guess though, you never know :) Plus, it takes up a bit more room than you usual makeup remover, but at least it looks cute right? haha

Product Overview - 3/5
I love the scent of this!! its got a nice pleasant lavender scent which i really like! Its also got some great stuff! heres what the website says:

"Formulated with Eco-Aroma Therapy™ to condition and soothe: OrganiSoy® to moisturize and help nourish lashes; Eco-Olive®, natural antioxidant, to help shield lashes from harsh environmental aggressors; Organic Orange Water to help nourish and restore delicate skin's moisture balance; Organic Lavender Essential Oil, sweet, natural scent for a calming effect."

and although i havent used it long enough to see if it does help nourish and shield my lashes or skin, i find that my skin felt extra soft and smooth after using this! It almost felt as if i had already cleansed and moisturized my skin, but of course that wasnt the case!

Cleaning-wise, i would say this product does an alright job. It removed the majority of my makeup pretty quickly and easily, without the need for me to scrub harder or anything. However, i could see that on days with heavier eye makeup (with primer and all!) this pad might need some extra help. The worst thing for me though, is that it doesnt remove waterproof makeup!! :( .. why physicians formula why?!?! I use covergirl's lashblast volume in waterproof on a daily basis so a waterproof makeup remover is a must :( oh, and did i mention that the pads were super strong? you definitely wont have to worry about breaking through them!

Overall - 3/5
I wish i could love this and use this on a daily basis just because of the scent and the way it makes my skin feel afterwards.. however, i dont see myself giving up covergirls' lashblast volume anytime soon so i guess i'll keep a jar around for lighter makeup days and pass the rest to my mom :( I might try using this for my face and another remover for my eyes... haha does that sound like too much work? we'll see what happens :)

anyways. if you wear light makeup on a daily basis (no waterproof or heavy duty primers!) then i would highly recommend you try this! Otherwise, i think its best to hold off until physicians formula decides to come up with pads that remove waterproof makeup :)
