Tweet Glamour Doll Eyes ♥ 80s Child Samples

So this is a little delayed, but remember the GlamourDollEyes Cyber Monday Sample Packs i purchased? Well, here's part one of the review and swatches! Sorry to keep you all waiting! :)

i purchased 4 packs during their cyber monday deal, each contains 6 sample eyeshadows randomly chosen from the 80s child and big cities colleciton

yup, i got a couple extra.. so i'll be giving these to some friends, as well as saving some for my next giveaway ;)

anyways, on to the eyeshadows and swatches! first up is the eyeshadows i got from the 80s child collection!

note: all swatches done on MAC painterly paint pot

the shadows are already vibrant and pigmented on their own, but on top of a primer, they stand out much more and stick better.

"Berrywood is inspired by Strawberry Shortcake. This is a matte (not completely matte) pinkish purple with some pink sparkles throughout. This shadow is NOT vegan."

"Brewster is inspired by the show Punky Brewster. This color is a vibrant coral with blue sparkle. "

"Rag Doll is inspired by Raggedy Ann. This color is a pinkish red with blue and white sparkles. The blue and white sparkles represent her dress and apron."

"Dream House is inspired by Barbie. This color the perfect barbie pink with aqua sparkle to represent her blue eyes. This shadow is NOT vegan." 



"Jerrica is inspired by the show Jem. This color is a vibrant yellow with pink and blue sparkle. The yellow and pink represents Jem's hair and the blue represents her eyes. This shadow is NOT vegan."


"Mutant is inspired by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This color is an almost lime greenish color to represent the turtles and then a red, blue, green and orange shimmer to represent each turtle (Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael)."

"Romper is inspired by My Little Pony, but more specifically, Romper. This color a baby purple with lots of pink undertones which fits Romper perfectly, as this pony has a purple body with a pink emblem. This shadow is NOT vegan."

"Vanity is inspired by The Smurfs, but more specifically, Vanity. This color is a bright blue with silver sparkle to represent the hats that all the Smurfs wear."

Overall Review

These eyeshadows are gorgeous and so pigmented! Although i only got a small sample of each, i think they will last me awhile since 1. i dont use eyeshadow on a daily basis and 2. you only need a little bit to get a whole lot of color! I have yet to try a full sized eyeshadow from GDE, but i would expect that they would last forever!!!

The eyeshadows are very high quality, finely milled, and come in a wide variety of shades and textures. i really really love their shimmery shadows because they give off the most gorgeous sheen. As well, all of their shadows seem to be very unique as they have various different sparkle colors. I dont think you can find an exact dupe for any of their shades!

Overall, although i usually stick to neutrals, i am really loving the wide range of colors and shades. i was really impresed with the amount of pigmentation i got, even from just a teeny tiny amount. The shadows blended very nicely, although i'd advise you to be careful not to over-blend as the shadows do blend almost TOO easily.

Would i recommend?
Yes! There are a wide variety of shades so you're bound to find one (or lots) that you love. The shades are all very unique and are very pigmented, especially when applied over a primer or applied wet. If you love loose eyeshadows, you really have to check these out!
