Tweet I Finally Gave In - MAC BlackTrack

and i am LOVING it!

We all know about MAC's fluidlines.. especially their famous blacktrack! Its pretty well known and i dont know why i never purchased this earlier! I guess i was always thinking that i could get away with a drugstore liner and so i never really wanted to shell out extra money for a MAC liner. But i finally gave in after my maybelline liner dried out :( and i am very happy to say, i LOVE my new blacktrack!

some quick swatches.. this is very creamy, very smooth and very easy to apply!

i like to use my coastal scents bent liner to apply this :) it makes it super easy!

first the gooood!

i LOVE the texture of this liner! it is very creamy and smooth and applies so easily! I also love the packaging :) as with other MAC products, it is housed in a sturdy glass packaging. The lid screws on tight helping to extend the lifetime of this product. As well, i really like how black this liner is even after application! I've had plenty of experiences with liners that say they are black but in reality, are actually more of a dark grey once applied.. so this was nice :) and last but not least, the lasting power did not disappoint :) after wearing it for a full day out in the sun, the liner was still there and still black with only minimal smudging :) and yes, im talking even on the waterline! <3

then the not so good...

hmm well one thing i found about this liner (and also with a lot of other liners) is that if you're in a rush and want to apply two layers, you might end up smudging off the first layer.. so i would have to say that one downside to this product would be that you do have to give it a good 5-10 seconds to really set before you want to re-apply another layer. (which if you really think about it, is not that bad because you can alternate between your eyes)

overall though, i am in love! This is definitely my new HG eyeliner and if you havent tested this out already, what are you waiting for! dont be silly like me and just resist it because of its price. (in fact, its actually not that much pricier than a drugstore liner! and you get a TON of product that will last you years :)) :D

Tweet MAC Mineralize Blushes - Daft Pink & Fad-Dabulous

Oh how i love blushes!

A little while back, Tiffany from WillWorkForMakeup was having a blog sale and i luckily snatched up two of her limited edition Mac Mineralize Blushes! one in Daft Pink and one in Fad-Dabulous! I dont normally like to do late posts on limited edition products since they arent available anymore, but these are just so gorgeous i had to share!

Arent they absolutely gorgeous! Both Daft Pink and Fad-dabulous came out with MAC's Colour Craft Collection and since I was huge on MAC products back then, I missed out. Thanks to Tiffany though, i now have two more gorgeous blushes to add to my collection! <3

arent they pretty? hehe i seriously cant get enough of blushes, and if only MAC blushes werent so pricey, (or if i won the lottery and became super rich) i'd probably go buy every single one they have! i am seriously addicted to blushes haha.. but im sure im not the only one! ;)

Tweet Possible Dupe for MAC "All That Glitters"?

Heres another possible MAC dupe!

As you might have seen, i recently got my hands on some gorgeous glamour doll eyes shadows to review :) (click here for full review and swatches!) 

Well, one of the shadows i picked was "He Loves Me Not" and when swatching it, i found it to be very very similar to MAC's all that glitters! Lets find out for sure :)

Overall, i definitely think that GDE's "He Loves Me Not" is a total dupe for MAC's "All That Glitters"


Both are buttery soft, very pigmented and blend amazingly well. The main difference between the two is that He Loves Me Not is a finely milled eyeshadow and is in powder form, whereas All That Glitters is in pan form. PLUS, there is of course, a price difference: GDE goes for $6 for 2-2.5g whereas MAC goes for $17 for 1.5g. (However, Glamour Doll Eyes is only available online so there may also be a shipping cost depending on where you live)


Overall, i love both shades! If you are tight on cash and dont mind using powder shadows, i would totally recommend Glamour Doll Eyes! However, if you're always on the go, in a hurry or just like the pan form better, the MAC one will be more travel friendly.


Since i have both....
For daily everyday basis, I will probably stick to using All That Glitters because its more convient and mess-free. However, for days/nights out, i think i'd switch to using He Loves Me Not because i find it more buildable since you can easily pack on as much color as you want :)

Tweet MAC Satin Taupe - SedonaLace 88 Palette DUPES!

Do you have an 88 palette?

As you know, i recently got my hands on MAC Satin Taupe and it is such a gorgeous shade! (click here for full review) Anyways, ever since i got it, ive been using it alot and got asked if there was a drugstore dupe for it.. good news, there are TONS! :D

So you've already seen the ELF and WNW dupes from last time's post (click here if you havent!) but i got some requests to see if there were any dupes from my 88 palettes! and trust me, there are! So today, i will be comparing those colors from my sedona lace 88 ultra shimmer palette (click here for full review and swatches part 1, 2, and 3)

Alright, heres the moment of truth! :D

Looking closely at each comparison:
#1 - slightly lighter in shade compared to satin taupe, has slightly more beige undertones
#2 - is also slightly lighter than satin taupe with beige undertones
#3 - very close in comparison - possible dupe
#4 - too dark compared to satin taupe, also has more silver & purple undertones
#5 - too warm and light compared to satin taupe, has goldish undertones

Looking closely at each comparison:

#6 - too much silver undertone, as well, it is more cool toned
#7 - very close in shade - possible dupe
#8 - more of a warm undertone compared to satin taupe
#9 - again, more warm toned, as well as strong purple undertone


from the above swatches, i found that #3 and 7 were the closest in shades, so i re-swatched them together with Satin Taupe

Differences if any?


Although both shadows are highly pigmented, once again, I do think Satin Taupe has a slightly higher quality just due to the fact that the SedonaLace shadows can at times be TOO soft and buttery and therefore slightly crumbly. I find that this happens often among drugstore eyeshadows, but nonetheless, if you work carefully and try not to get too much product on your brush, you wont have any problems.


Since the SedonaLace shadows i am using are from their ultra shimmer palette, i actually find that these are quite comparable in shine and shimmer. They all have a very nice sheen so overall, i do think that the shades are very good dupes for MAC Satin Taupe.

Overall Verdict:

Out of the SedonaLace palette, I think #7 is the closest both in shade and undertones. #3 is also quite close but is ever so slightly lighter and warmer than satin taupe. Overall, these would both make great dupes as the differences are subtle once applied.

Tweet MAC FOTD - Prance & Satin Taupe

Hi everyone :)

So ive been getting alot of requests to put up some FOTDs and EOTDs showing how i used my new MAC eyeshadows :) as well, there have been some requests for a before and after picture using MAC Fix + ! So i thought i might as well kill two birds with one stone, and do them both in one post :)

So for today, i decided to use two MAC eyeshadows to create a very very subtle look. i was heading to school and didnt want anything too dramatic. As a result, i didnt use a primer, but just a concealer as a base. In addition, i also blended throughly so that the colors were very soft and more suitable for school.

You could spray this on and leave it to dry, but i find that it will be slightly uneven because the more concentrated areas will look more shiny .. therefore, i like to use a duo fibre stippling brush to distribute the product evenly

There isnt a huge noticeable difference, especially in pictures lol.. but in reality, i really do feel a lot more refreshed, as if i wasnt wearing too much makeup or powder. Plus, i think after using MAC Fix +, my makeup looks more smooth and softened, kind of combining the powder & foundation together so it looks more natural.

p.s. i did this look again today, except instead of bringing satin taupe into the inner corners, i just left it in the outer corners. i loved the result! not too heavy but great for an everyday look :) i think i'll be wearing this Prance-Satin Taupe combo very often!!
