Wet n Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Trio Review

So recently, i've been testing out some drugstore eyeshadows (im sad to admit that i have not been putting too much effort into makeup during that last month of school due to the intense load of projects and tests!! :( ) but i found one that definately took me by surprise.. Wet n Wild's ColourIcon eyeshadow trio! The one i bought was "Knock on wood" and features three simple colours that work very well together. Here's some pictures and swatches!

What they say:
Coordinating trio shades takes the guesswork out of creating the perfect eye look. The "how to" palettes are created to highlight, define, and accentuate specific eye colors to create unique looks. For more information, check out Wet n wild's website.

My Take:
These eyeshadows are gorgeous! They are super pigmented and one swipe will give you plenty of colour! I also love how they come in pre-matched easy to use shades, with the area (browbone, crease and eyelid) etched into the shadow itself. Considering this is one of the cheaper drugstore brands, i was pleasantly surprised and will definately look for other shades next time i visit the drugstore :)

Pros:

  • Very pigmented
  • Inexpensive - around $5.99 CAD
  • 3 shades pre-matched make any look simple to achieve
  • Small size makes it great for travelling and touch ups

Cons:

  • I would prefer a lighter browbone shade as the pink given doesnt really show up on my skin. Perhaps this would work for other skin tones, but on me, i would need to pull out another eyeshadow to highlight my browbone.
  • The brushes that come with it are pretty much for decoration (read: bad quality).. and i would probably never use them. (but then again, what did you expect! lol)

Overall: A
This definately took me by surprise. Not only was it cheap, but it is very well pigmented and lasts pretty long. The pre-matched shades make it very easy to put together a quick look without too much thinking. Have you guys tried any of Wet n Wild's eyeshadows? Let me know what you think!
